Décolletage. I love to say it… rhymes with espionage.
As defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary: the top of a woman’s dress, blouse, etc., that is cut very low so the top of the woman’s breasts can be seen
Then there’s décolleté: having a low cut neckline.
Regardless of these lovely French words, we all know the décolleté area of a woman’s body to be the exposed area of a woman’s neckline, shoulders, back and chest. A subject of inspiration in many paintings and images of beauty portrayed in the written word and visual imagery. The décolleté is a very vulnerable, beautiful part of a woman’s body which often easily shows the signs of aging with wrinkles, sun spots and lack of self care.
For me personally, my décolleté area is a sun magnet, getting sunburned some days when no other part of my body does. And often this is a forgotten area in my beauty routine of protection and preservation.
Here are a few tips to protect your décolleté from signs of aging:
2. Exfoliate two to three times a week – to allow moisturizing products to penetrate the skin
3. Firm with a Vitamin C based serum
5. Protect using a safe sunscreen or light clothing
Really, it’s nothing different than our regular beauty routine for our face. Remember to take care of your décolleté!
