Using a dry skin brush is one of the lowest cost things we can do to promote healthy skin.This activity is not only wonderful for your health but it also feels darn good.
A few of the health benefits are:
Toxin Excretion: Most toxins in our body are excreted through our skin and dry brushing is an effective way to help release those trapped toxins;
Exfoliation: Dry body brushing assists in shedding dead skin and encourages new skin renewal making skin brighter and smoother;
Cellulite Reduction: Increases circulation therefore encourages elimination of metabolic waste or sometimes called excretes;
Stimulates the Lymphatic System: The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory system and an important part of the immune system. This system carries a clear fluid called lymph towards the heart. The lymphatic system doesn’t have it’s own pump (like the heart does) so dry brushing is a way to stimulate this system.
Be sure to purchase a brush with bristles made from natural materials only and the bristles should be stiff but not rigid and a long handled one is great to get the out of reach places of the back.
Best use is to use in the shower before you turn the water on. Brush in long or short strokes towards your heart. Start with your feet and move up your body with firm but not painful strokes.
It’s easy and if you don’t care so much about the health benefits, do it just cause it feels amazing!
